Welcome to issue 47 of the newsletter
Despite the rain doing its best to ruin the Club's 2012 Awards Presentation Lunch, it went ahead as planned under the sheltered area at the Round Bush in Aldenham. Sadly, the attendance figures were well down on previous events of this nature which was a shame. A lot of effort goes into making these Lunches happen and I think that players could make more of an effort to attend. I realise that people have commitments and I realise the event clashed with the Queen's Jubilee day and was taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend, so I will not be over critical regarding the numbers turning up. I will, however, make a reference as to how many from each team attended see the red panel below which put everything into perspective when it comes to supporting Club events.
The Lunch was attended by Jonathan Cohen, Lee Fegan, David Goldberg, Michael Goldberg, Jason Miller, Jonathan Morris, Jack Morris, Dan Natoff, Mike Shorvon, Brett Stead (and his fiancee) and myself. That's half the number who attended last year's event in the sun at Bricket wood but nevertheless I think everyone enjoyed the occasion despite the adverse weather. I would like to thank them all for being there much appreciated!
From my point of view, I have been left with half the trophies not being presented which in itself causes logistical problems. Somehow I need to get awards to the recipients at some point in time and that is not going to be easy I don't carry TFFC trophies in my car boot and drive around making personal visits! So those who failed to make the Awards Lunch might have to wait until next season's event to receive their 2012 accolades! However, that said, anyone who is owed a trophy can collect it at the Club's AGM on Sunday 17th June, between 11am and 11.30am. Email me for details.
OLD BOYS TEAM 1, SECOND TEAM 0
No, not an inter-Club football result but the number of players attending the Club's Award Presentation Lunch on Sunday 3rd June 2012. Enough said! |

Above: Lee Fegan says a few words to thank Jack Morris for all his efforts as First Team assistant manager during the 2011/12 season.

THE TFFC WEBSITE: IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!
I had a member complaining about how he struggles to navigate the TFFC website, finding it difficult to locate his team's fixtures and results page. Surely everyone by now knows that on the website home page are located three team links below the Club badge, top right. There's one for the First Team, Second Team and Old Boys Team. And if anyone was reading this newsletter throughout the season, in this very column was a feature called FORTUNE ROUND-UP, in which I gave results of each team's match in a panel which included a link to the said team's page!
Another member could not find the weekly newsletter! Hmmm, was this individual totally ignoring a weekly email entitled 'THE FORTUNE NEWS - today's issue now online'? I sent out weekly links almost every Sunday evening which merely required a click to go straight to the newsletter page. 'Why can't you put the newsletter on the home page?' I was asked by the same individual. Mainly because I don't want the newsletter freely available to the World-Wide Web if anyone wants it, go find it... OR CLICK ON THE WEEKLY LINK SENT OVER 40 TIMES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON! It really isn't rocket science, I assure you!
