FORTUNETELLER
News, views and everything TFFC by Nigel Kyte
Welcome to issue 34 of the newsletter
Due to postponements of my fixtures I have recently watched three Temple Fortune matches, two involving the First XI and this morning one played by the Second XI. Defeats to Brady in the PMT and a horrendous loss against Brixton didn't give me anything to smile about so I was hoping that the Second Team's BGT fixture against Faithfold 'B' would be third time lucky. Despite a gallant hard-working performance during a rather scrappy match, the red-shirted Seconds lost narrowly by 2-1, completing a woeful hat-trick for me personally! Faithfold 'B', high-placed in the MSFL Second Division, were red hot favourites against mid-table Division 4 side Temple Fortune 'B' but I saw a gutsy display by the Fortune players who definitely missed striker Joey Glynne (who unbelievably went to the wrong venue), leaving Terry Jeffries as the lone striker. Even so, Simon Allen came so close to equalising towards the end. The only moment of joy for anyone connected with Fortune was when DAN MARKESON hooked in a tremendous goal to make it 1-1 just before half-time. Faithfold huffed and puffed for a winner and never looked two divisions above the Seconds. But they grabbed their decisive second goal from a breakaway with 17 minutes remaining. Still, a narrow 2-1 defeat in Group C gives the Second Team another chance to qualify when they take on Jewventus at Chase Lodge next Sunday, a team they have beaten twice already this season.
Temple Fortune's other two teams were not in action.
KEEP IT ZIPPED!
A timely reminder to those who think yapping at the referee gets you somewhere a caution for DISSENT will cost you £16. The First Team have had four yellow cards for this offence in the past two matches, which is far too many. This message goes to ALL players representing Temple Fortune: KEEP IT ZIPPED!
PUNCTUALITY ESSENTIAL
Another reminder that you are requested to be at the venue NO LATER than 30 minutes before the kick-off. Anything after that is LATE. This applies to all three of our teams and fines will be imposed on repeated late-comers. Please take the time to click here and read the information carefully. LATE PLAYERS will continue to be named and shamed on this page in future and fines/suspensions will be imposed as necessary.
ABUSE THE REF MEANS A FOUR MATCH BAN
The Club has been making a point of drumming into all our players that abusing a match official will NOT be tolerated and will earn any offender a ban of FOUR MATCHES. A reminder will be emailed from time to time to everyone in the shape of examples of things you could say to a referee and be sent off. Some of the jpegs you will find amusing but the serious message is always the same ABUSE THE REF = FOUR MATCH BAN.

MACCABI FOOTBALL REVIEW
MSFL review by Danny Caro, www.thejc.com/msfl
MSFL FIRST DIVISION
BRIXTON OLD BOYS 'A' 3, NORTH WEST NEASDEN 'B' 0
Brixton kept their excellent run going with Rob Hershkorn, Danny Sherman and Michael Posner on target in a routine win over Neasden at Clowes.
OAKWOOD 2, REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE 'B' 1
Oakwood took a big step towards the title with a battling 2-1 win over Redbridge at Parmiters. Brad Wine and Josh Rubin were the goal men for the Oaks. Redbridge's goal came through 'C' team top-scorer Doron Weinstein.
WOODFORD WANDERERS 4, SOUTHGATE HARMEN 'B' 1
Woodford claimed a crucial win in a relegation six-pointer, with strikes from Harrison Midda, Jerome Marks, Darryl Green and Mark Burgess easing them home.
BARRY GOLDSTEIN TROPHY, GROUP C
CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 2, JEWVENTUS 2
Goals from Jonny Lee and Jamie Sinai earned Catford a point in their Group C opener against fourth division Jewventus. A high-quality game which Catford were disappointed not to have won, saw the hosts make a nightmare start in they we conceded a very soft goal from the second phase of a set-piece.
Catofrd dominated the rest of the first half, restricting Jewventus to one shot from open play.
