The SECOND TEAM played MSFL Third Division side BLIZZARD STORM in the last eight of the Barry Goldstein Trophy on a terrible pitch at Edgwarebury Park, losing 3-1. Simon Allen's own goal in the opening minutes was the worst possible start from which the Second Team never really recovered. Storm added a second before TERRY JEFFRIES scored a penalty to reduce the deficit after a handball offence. But the home team settled the tie with a third goal. Said Terry: "Very disappointing. We weren't that good and the pitch and referee were dreadful. We scored two own goals and it's a performance to forget. Shame to go out like that." Blizzard Storm manager Simon Linden told JC Sport: "We came flying out the blocks, and the way we played in the opening 25 minutues suggested we would go on and easily win the game. Full credit to Fortune, they made the job very hard for us and showed they are no pushovers. It wasn't easy, but we have won again."
The OLD BOYS TEAM's unbeaten run was finally ended by Masters Division Two leaders LONDON MACCABI LONDON at Rowley Lane, where the home team won by 4-2. JAMES RYAN scored Fortune's goals. Said midfielder Peter Kyte: "We had a weakened defence and at least five one-on-ones, and our guest Ed missed a sitter. They scored two set pieces which we handled badly so it was a pity. But we continue to prove ourselves and play well."
CLUB AWARDS: BALLOTS OPEN NEXT SUNDAY
Each season the Club holds ballots to establish the PLAYER OF THE YEAR and CLUBMAN OF THE YEAR Award winners. The ballot system has continued for well over 25 years and most members take part in the voting each season. This season, with three teams in operation, we will have awards for the FIRST TEAM, the SECOND TEAM and the OLD BOYS TEAM. The ballots will open on SUNDAY 1ST APRIL and ballot forms will be emailed to members with full instructions. The deadline is 1ST MAY, so look out for your voting email next week.
KEEP IT ZIPPED!
A timely reminder to those who think yapping at the referee gets you somewhere a caution for DISSENT will cost you £16. This message goes to ALL players representing Temple Fortune: KEEP IT ZIPPED!
PUNCTUALITY ESSENTIAL
Another reminder that you are requested to be at the venue NO LATER than 30 minutes before the kick-off. Anything after that is LATE. This applies to all three of our teams and fines will be imposed on repeated late-comers. Please take the time to click here and read the information carefully. LATE PLAYERS will continue to be named and shamed on this page in future and fines/suspensions will be imposed as necessary.
ABUSE THE REF MEANS A FOUR MATCH BAN
The Club has been making a point of drumming into all our players that abusing a match official will NOT be tolerated and will earn any offender a ban of FOUR MATCHES. Reminders have been emailed from time to time to everyone in the shape of examples of things you could say to a referee and be sent off. Some of the jpegs you may have found amusing but the serious message is always the same ABUSE THE REF = FOUR MATCH BAN.

MACCABI FOOTBALL REVIEW
MSFL review by Danny Caro, www.thejc.com/msfl
MSFL FIRST DIVISION
OAKWOOD 3, SOUTHGATE HARMEN 'B' 1
Oakwood's incredible winning run continued as they wrapped up the Division One title with a 3-1 win over Harmen B. Two goals from Jason Lindsay plus one from Dan Abrams sealed part one of a possible double. They will meet Hendon 'A' in the final of the Peter Morrison Trophy at Wingate & Finchley on April 29.
WOODFORD WANDERERS 0, BRIXTON OLD BOYS 'A' 4
Brixton kept their promotion hopes alive with an easy 4-0 win over Woodford at Redbridge Sports Centre. Mike Posner, Alon Herskorn (2) and Rob Herskorn eased them home. Alon Herskorn fired home the opener after 13 minutes before Posner doubled the advantage five minutes later. Hershkorn completed his brace after 53 minutes before brother, Rob, completed the scoring 14 minutes from time.
MSFL FOURTH DIVISION
ATHLETICO FINCHLEY 3, SPEC FC 3
SPEC FC's promotion hopes were dealt a blow as they were held by an Athletico Finchley team who did Athletic Bilbaum a huge favour.
Adam Lenz (2) and Ashley Burns registered for SPEC FC. The draw leaves SPEC FC three points behind second-place Athletic Bilbaum, whom they meet next weekend in a potential promotion decider.
BRADY MACCABI 'B' 5, NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 'C' 1
Congratulations to Brady Maccabi B who have been crowned champions of Division Four in their first season following strikes from James Joseph (2), Dan Hildebrand, Reiss Mogilner and Dan Harrod.
JEWVENTUS 1, FC TEAM 'C' 5
A hat-trick from Dave Cohen helped FC Team 'C' finish their first season in style, beating Jewventus 5-1 at Chase Lodge. Further strikes from Cooper and Hill completed the rout.

NATHAN HORWITZ DIVISION TWO CUP
EDRS Stonegrove progressed to a semi-final tie against Temple Fortune Old Boys thanks to a 6-1 win over Hendon Harriers. Martin Seifert scored twice, with Tony Platman, Phil Silver, Ian Leader and an own goal completing the scoring. Ilan Cohen grabbed Hendon's consolation.
DIVISION ONE
Glenthorne 'A' beat South Mancs 5-2 thanks in no small part to Paul Allen's hat-trick. Greg Morris and Nick Belkin claimed the other two, with Joel Nathan and Braham Hochenberg replying for South Mancs.
North London Raiders notched up an 8-2 win over Faithfold. Lloyd Becker helped himself to a hat-trick, while Andy Bloom and Wayne Davidson scored two each. Dean Schulberg claimed the eight, while Jonny Summerfield and Jonny Mack scored for Faithfold.
DIVISION TWO
Clayhall enjoyed a rare win as they beat Ashlodge 3-1 with goals from Leon Pernikis, guest Danny Fenton and Gary Rowland.
Glenthorne 'B' kept up their challenge with a 6-1 victory over stablemates Glenthorne 'C', thanks to doubles from Gary Adams and Adam Lennard, along with further strikes from Gary Swerner and Sid Shaw.
