News, views and everything TFFC by Nigel Kyte

Welcome to issue 44 of the newsletter
As the 2011/12 season approaches its final few weeks, we have two matches remaining – Lee's Watford extravaganza on Friday 11th May followed by the Jack Kyte Challenge Cup match between the Second Team and the Old Boys Team next Sunday. But the current season doesn't end until the Club Awards Presentation Lunch is completed and two weeks later, the Club's 36th AGM. The time-consuming effort to order the awards and get the engraving done on the perpetual trophies will be wasted if you do not support the Lunch on Sunday 3rd June. So far the response has been very poor and unless Club Members show some interest in this annual event, then I will have no option but to cancel it.

The Lunch is a social event giving you all a chance to have a drink and some food with other Club Members whilst celebrating our Award winners. All I need is some effort from as many as possible to make the event viable. A couple of players have emailed me saying they cannot attend but I really DO need the rest to respond with some urgency this coming week - or I will have no option but to forget the whole thing. I have set the deadline for SUNDAY 13TH MAY - that's next Sunday. Below are the details but you should have received an emailed reminder. Please do NOT delay any more - support this event!

THE 9TH JACK KYTE CHALLENGE CUP MATCH
This year's end-of-season inter-Club match in memory of Jack Kyte, who passed away in February 2003, will be played on Sunday 13th May at the 3G at The Hive, between the Second Team and the Old Boys Team, kick-off 10.15am The Seconds are the cup holders, winning the trophy for the first time last year by 6-4 at the same venue.

Anyone with a sense of history will appreciate the significance of the match next Sunday. From the Club's earliest days, Jack watched Temple Fortune play for many years, usually accompanied by his wiife Ruth and their numerous boxer dogs. As a keen photographer, he snapped away hundreds of shots, building up a collection of prints which catalogued the Club's history in pictures. Indeed, his work forms the visual foundation of the Club's comprehensive website. For each image one can enjoy on the site, there must be ten others helping to comprise a large TFFC library of Jack's photographs over the years. So, through his ability and interest as a photographer, Jack Kyte played a big role in sustaining Temple Fortune's history covering 43 years now. His sad passing in 2003 naturally left a void in the lives of his family, whose wishes were to have an event staged in his memory. Full JKCC details.

NOMINATION FOR OFFICERS 2012/13
This is early notification that nominations for Officers to serve on the TFFC Management Committee for the 2012/13 season may be made in writing to The Chairman, 80 Hale Drive, London NW7 3ED no later than SUNDAY 20TH MAY. It is only fair to point out that anyone fancying an active Committee role must be prepared for months of hard work and dedicated commitment stretching right through a long season. This is particularly true of one of the Team Secretary roles, where team selection is notably a difficult task, demanding continuous man-management and tact from start to finish. The strength of the Club has always been its Management Committee and anyone elected to serve will have to devote a lot of time and effort.

THE TFFC'S 36TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
This is notification that this season's ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will be held on SUNDAY 17TH JUNE 2012 at a venue to be announced, starting at 10.30am.

FIRST TEAM END THE SEASON AT WATFORD FC
Temple Fortune's First Team will be playing Old Albanian FC at Vicarage Road Stadium – home of Championship-side Watford – on Friday 11th May 2011, kick-off at 3pm. Last year the two teams met at the same venue on a sunny morning in May and Old Albanian won 1-0. Lee Fegan, the First Team manager and organiser of the match, says: "It should be a lovely day out like last year and is a great way to complete the season off with a match at the mighty Hornets’ nest."

The package consists of the following:
• Access to the stadium an hour before scheduled kick off
• Use of home and away changing rooms
• Up to a maximum of 150 spectators (like last year)
• Match officials
• Steward / first aider
• One signed match ball for the winning team.

The cost per person is £50 (or £750 for the team based on 15 players). If you are interested, please let Lee know ASAP. You have until 22nd April to either transfer the money into the below bank account or send a check payable to Lee Fegan in an envelope addressed to Lee Fegan, 8 Beaumont Gate, Radlett, Hertfordshire, WD7 7AR. This is non-refundable so if you decide to drop out, you will need to find a replacement.

For direct online payments, here are Lee's details:
Account Name – L J Fegan
Account Number – 39801445
Sort Code – 09-01-27
(Please give your name as the reference)
