Welcome to issue 45 of the newsletter
The Club's Awards Presentation Lunch is seriously under threat due to lack of support. I find this very disappointing but unless as many players as possible send in their orders before Sunday, I will have no option but to cancel it. The time-consuming effort to order the awards and get the engraving done on the perpetual trophies will be wasted if you do not support the Lunch on Sunday 3rd June. The Lunch is a social event giving you all a chance to have a drink and some food with other Club Members whilst celebrating our Award winners. All I need is some effort from as many as possible to make the event viable. A couple of players have emailed me saying they cannot attend but I really DO need the rest to respond with some urgency this coming week - or I will have no option but to forget the whole thing. I have extended the deadline to SUNDAY 20TH MAY - that's next Sunday. Below are the details but you should have received an emailed reminder. Please do NOT delay any more - support this event!

THE SECOND TEAM WIN THE JACK KYTE CHALLENGE CUP
The Second Team retained the Jack Kyte Challenge Cup after a comprehensive 7-2 victory against the Old Boys Team at The Hive. Following a welcome message from the Chairman Nigel Kyte and a period of silence, the Second Team took 19 minutes before leading goalscorer Terry Jeffries fired his team ahead past Old Boys goalkeeper Serge Weinberger. Just five minutes later, the Old Boys were ripped open again and Gavin Levy netted from short range to make it 2-0. And when Jeffries netted a third on the half-hour, the match looked done and dusted. However, Michael Goldberg, guesting for his father's team, pulled reduced the deficit with the goal of the game; his mazy run through the Second Team defence culminated in a fine finish past Adam Glekin. Just before half-time, the Old Boys surprisingly scored a second goal when full-back Rob Jay headed into his own net.
Any hopes of the yellow-shirted Old Boys gaining parity disappeared ten minutes into the second period when Jeffries scored his third and his team's fourth. The Second Team were now running rampant and it was only a matter of time before further goals flowed; Jeffries, Brad Leviton with a sumptuous free-kick from just outside the penalty area and a Dave Sawyer breakaway made the score 7-2. The ninth JKCC finished in the blazing sun with the Second Team comfortable winners and Jack's grand-daughter Stephanie presented the gold trophy to the Second Team's Rob Jay and Dean Ingram. Full JKCC details including a picture of the trophy being presented. Also see the TFFC website home page.

NOMINATION FOR OFFICERS 2012/13
This is early notification that nominations for Officers to serve on the TFFC Management Committee for the 2012/13 season may be made in writing to The Chairman, 80 Hale Drive, London NW7 3ED no later than SUNDAY 20TH MAY. It is only fair to point out that anyone fancying an active Committee role must be prepared for months of hard work and dedicated commitment stretching right through a long season. This is particularly true of one of the Team Secretary roles, where team selection is notably a difficult task, demanding continuous man-management and tact from start to finish. The strength of the Club has always been its Management Committee and anyone elected to serve will have to devote a lot of time and effort.

THE TFFC'S 36TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
This is notification that this season's ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will be held on SUNDAY 17TH JUNE 2012 at a venue to be announced, starting at 10.30am.

FIRST TEAM END THE SEASON WITH A WIN
Temple Fortune's First Team beat Old Albanian FC by 3-1 at Vicarage Road Stadium on a very heavy pitch last Friday. MICHAEL GOLDBERG (2) and DAN ORGEL scored the goals in a game Fortune could have won by more. The best aspect of the occasion was seeing BEN ISAACS back in a Temple Fortune shirt after missing the entire season due to a cruciates ligament injury. For the victorious players, it was a great experience to play at a professional ground and a great result to finish off the First Team's season.
