The SECOND TEAM beat Catford & Bromley Maccabi of Division 3 by 3-1 at Gosling to move into the last eight of the Barry Goldstein Trophy. It was the second season in succession that the Seconds have defeated Catford in a group fixture. JOEY GLYNNE netted another two goals with the other coming from DAVID SAWYER as Fortune came from behind to defeat the Cats. It was a performance which midfielder Gavin Levy described as "focused and committed" when passing the result and team details to me today. Temple Fortune 'B' join fellow Division 4 side Athletic Bilbaum as the lowest ranked teams left in the competition. The draw for the quarter-final which is due to be played on Sunday 25th April is shown below.

The OLD BOYS TEAM played Brady Maccabi 'B' at The Hive and came away with a creditbale 1-1 draw. The significance of PETER KYTE's scrambled equaliser 15 minutes from time is that the Old Boys are now unbeaten in six games, a new record for this particular side. Said a very pleased David Goldberg: "It was a good team performance and we deserved to get something out of the game for sure. I thought Graham Meyer was exceptional but others played very well too. I'm delighted we have remained unbeaten this year, especially because we don't have a large squad and we've lost a few players to injury." Second Team midfielder Garry Simpson played his first Masters League fixture whilst Allon Schick-Maier pulled out shortly before the kick-off. Joining the long-term injured players such as Rob Botkai and Andy Montlake on the sidelines now is Jonathan Davidoff who had to go off due to a bad calf strain.
INTER-CLUB QUIZ: SECOND TEAMERS MAKE THE FINAL
The Semi-Final of this season's inter-Club football quiz was completed last week and the results are below. The semi-finalists faced 30 'True Or False' statements, with Second Team midfielder DEAN INGRAM pipping the First XI's Jack Morris whilst TONY HIRSCHSTEIN, also of the Seconds, saw off Old Boys defender Alan Harounoff. The Final between the two Second Teamers will be held next month; Spurs fan Dean is a former Quiz winner and starts as firm favourite having answered over 78% of his questions accurately. Tony, a Leeds United supporter, has done very well to reach the Final despite his accuracy of 47%, but he may spring a surprise who knows?

KEEP IT ZIPPED!
A timely reminder to those who think yapping at the referee gets you somewhere a caution for DISSENT will cost you £16. The First Team have had four yellow cards for this offence in the past two matches, which is far too many. This message goes to ALL players representing Temple Fortune: KEEP IT ZIPPED!
PUNCTUALITY ESSENTIAL
Another reminder that you are requested to be at the venue NO LATER than 30 minutes before the kick-off. Anything after that is LATE. This applies to all three of our teams and fines will be imposed on repeated late-comers. Please take the time to click here and read the information carefully. LATE PLAYERS will continue to be named and shamed on this page in future and fines/suspensions will be imposed as necessary.
ABUSE THE REF MEANS A FOUR MATCH BAN
The Club has been making a point of drumming into all our players that abusing a match official will NOT be tolerated and will earn any offender a ban of FOUR MATCHES. A reminder will be emailed from time to time to everyone in the shape of examples of things you could say to a referee and be sent off. Some of the jpegs you will find amusing but the serious message is always the same ABUSE THE REF = FOUR MATCH BAN.

MACCABI FOOTBALL REVIEW
MSFL review by Danny Caro, www.thejc.com/msfl
MSFL FIRST DIVISION
WOODFORD WANDERERS 2, CHIGWELL ATHLETIC 3
Chigwell returned to winning ways with Anthony Mendel and Jamie Fox (2) keeping their automatic promotion hopes alive with victory in a five-goal thriller east London derby in Redbridge. Richard Slater's men did it the hard way after finding themselves 2-0 down after just 25 minutes. Darryl Kay was among the scorers. Mendel pulled one back 10 minutes into the second half before a corner from Fox was helped into the net by the Woodford keeper to make it 2-2. Then step forward Chigwell keeper Rob Shepherdson who prevented Woodford from restoring the lead with a brilliant penalty save. Fox made Woodford pay with a last-minute winner after a free-kick from Craig Pearl was flicked on for Fox to go round the keeper and fire into an empty net.
MSFL FOURTH DIVISION
BRADY MACCABI 'B' 3, FC TEAM 'C' 2
Brady 'B' moved three points clear at the top after a late penalty earned them victory in a five-goal thriller against FC Team, which completed the league double after last week's 5-3 win.
James Joseph, Daniel Hildebrand and Ben Hildebrand scored for Brady.
BARRY GOLDSTEIN TROPHY, GROUP C
JEWVENTUS 3, FAITHFOLD 'B' 6
Competition favourites Faithfold 'B' hit Jewventus for six in the top against bottom clash in Group C.
TEMPLE FORTUNE 'B' 3, CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 1
Temple Fortune 'B' reached the latter stages of the Barry Goldstein Trophy again as they overcame higher division opponents Catford with an impressive 3-1 win. Catford's goal came throug Rafi Marom in the winner-takes-all contest. Catford joint-manager Adam Lewis told JC Sport: "In typical Catford style we didn't turn up when we needed to. We were simply outfought by a more physical team."
