SEASON 2021/22
The Old Boys Team win the Masters League Sportsmanship Trophy for the third time!
The TFFC Second Team's only piece of silverware to date is the Ron Saunders Sportsmanship & Turnout Memorial Trophy won in season 1998/99 and the achievement has been featured it in the 'Glory Years' series. So when the Old Boys Team won the Masters League's equivalent award in season 2021/22 – on the third occasion no less – we thought it was high time the splendid achievement was recognised here on the website!

Sportsmanship has ranked very highly in the TF Old Boys Team's make-up over the years and has been reflected by the Maccabi Masters Football League's recognition in the form of two previous Sportsmanship awards. These came in both seasons 2014/15 and, 2018/19, with second place in season 2015/16.

When the Old Boys Team were named as the winners for season 2021/22, the achievement needed to be officially recognised on the Club's website. But this third award is very different to the previous two. This time, the new trophy carries the name of Ken Goldman, a long serving referee in both the MGBSFL and MMFL who sadly passed away a year previously.

Chairman Nigel Kyte was honoured to receive the Ken Goldman Memorial Team Sportsmanship Trophy from MMFL Chairman David Jacobs shortly after hearing about TFFC's success at the MMFL AGM in June 2022. He proudly displayed the trophy at the Club's own AGM held at The Three Hammers in Mill Hill later that same month.

"I was very chuffed to receive this prestigious trophy on behalf of the Old Boys Team," said Nigel, "and was equally delighted to pass it on to manager Simon Black and captain Wayne Davison prior to a friendly at Parmiters. Sportsmanship is very important and the Old Boys Team's welcomed progress deserves this kind of recognition."

Congratulations to each and every memeber of the TF Old Boys Team squad who helped bring about this prestigious success – and our Masters team's fourth trophy.
