Dear Gab,

I hope you have been keeping well (and fit) throughout your ordeal. I have been meaning to write to you but it's been on a long 'to do' list together with so many other TFFC-related stuff.

Now that I have got the award ballots out of the way and the MMFL/MGBSFL Invitation Trophy under way, to mention just two ongoing things, I can sit at my computer on this Monday evening – before I suffer another shambolic Arsenal performance no doubt – and get this done!

Of course, I was shocked when I heard the news of your sentence which came just a day after I had seen you score that headed goal at Silver Jubilee Park against Catford & Bromley. What I did do immediately was to issue a statement on behalf of the Club breaking the news – rather than have any member finding out via the Jewish media. Apart from asking members not to comment to the media if approached, the message was that you remain a valued club member who we will welcome back with open arms when you are released.

And basically I want to assure you that this still stands. The circumstances of your trial and subsequent sentence are your business and should not interfere what with this Club stands for – which is to promote and provide league football for Jewish members.

We have a great group representing the First Team which I feel is one of the best ever and the success we have enjoyed this season is fully merited for a multitude of hard work.

I read your letter which Michael distributed via WhatsApp with great interest and I am delighted you made the football team – I hope your results have been as good as ours!

Everyone at TFFC looks forward to your return which I believe could be in time for next season – that's great news!

With the Arsenal game about to begin I had better get going. All that remains for me to say is take care, keep fit and be assured that TFFC is here for you when you are ready to resume with us.

Regards,
Nigel
