awardspresentation
2025
The Club ambitiously ran the 2025-26 CAPE with six teams, one more than the previous year. The morning started with Kerry's registration process where most participants were handed a copy of the TFFC Book commemorating 50 seasons in the M(S)FL.

We know that the Arsenal parade impacted on the event for sure. Players withdrawing over the weekend, plus those failing to show on the day, caused disruption so that the additional team, the 200 Clubbers, had to be dropped. With players being shunted around, the tournament reverted to five teams and, under the circumstances, went well.

The Firsts unsurprisingly topped the table with four wins and a draw, whilst the TF Founders crept into the final, pipping the Old Boys and the Over 30s on goal differece. In the final, the Firsts won the Jack Kyte Challenge Cup for the first time in four years with a winner in the last minute. A decent attendance of over 30 people in the banner-decorated clubhouse saw a well conducted awards ceremony, which was preceded by a pre-recorded tribute to David Wolff, the former MGBSFL Chairman who passed away in February 2026.

One of our guests was Jeremy Fess, who stands second in the all-time appearances list behind Co-Founder Peter Kyte. He came with his wife Mandy and said after the event, "As ever the event was extremely well organised, and the attendees had obviously had a great morning on and off the pitch. It was lovely to catch up with other old 'Old Boys' and to see the enthusiasm and camaraderie of the next generations. Thanks for the commemorative book, I shall look forward to reading it.".

Thank you to the coordinators/managers for running their respective teams and in particular Kerry Higham for her amazing work in helping to stage the event. Also a big thank you to those who attended to watch the morning's football, followed by the food, drink and awards! Finally, a big shoutout to Richard of SJP whose help with setting up and clearing up was much appreciated.
